Entry to the Caterpillar Club was gained by making a successful landing on silk. Parachute manufacturers would issue a badge and a certificate.
There was also a Late Arrivals Club for those that walked home. Members were awarded a Winged Boot badge.

I have arrived back at the hanger on foot so many times, especially when I was starting out, that I thought it an appropriate name for a blog aimed at beginners. Of course, as I gained experience I learnt how to avoid the embarrassment of a pedestrian arrival... mainly by purchasing a Jaguar so I could at least arrive in style!
In order to stay in the air and avoid being shot down by other pilots, or more usually by Linden Labs, I have had to ask a lot of questions. Most of the useful answers don't seem to be posted anywhere on the web, so I thought I'd create a resource that people could direct Penguins* to.
Comments are turned on, please use them, add your own advice, ask questions -- if I don't know the answer I will try and find out.
I will use normal blog posts for reviews, reference material, interesting scuttlebut... and put the really useful stuff on pages so it is easy to find.
*Penguin ~ Has wings, hasn't a clue how to use them.
